New Toy

I love this picture of him. He always looks good in blue...even blue water.
"saving" Thomas's life with a shephard hook.

3 silly scouts
I got a new toy yesterday. Jeff came home from work and had a small size digital camera for me. Mine was rather bulky and I mentioned to him that I'd like to get a smaller one before we go to Florida (September). So I'm so excited about my camera. I tested it out last night when Shayne had a scout swimming activity. He's working towards his swimming merit badge and "training" for scout camp. I like my camera!!

A Trip to the Zoo

Shayne and I decided to head to the zoo today. I made sure I grabbed the camera so I could get some really cute shots for my blog. Once we got there my camera would turn on but wouldn't do anything else. Then I realized that my picture card was at home in the computer. So, no cute pictures from today...sorry.
We had a good time. Saw the baby giraffe. One of the baby elephants. Watched them feed the Sea Lions. Shayne even got to enjoy dippin dots so he was happy. Then we headed back towards home and met Jeff for lunch at Lion's Choice. It was a fun morning.

Our beautiful Star

She's back from her grooming and she smells much better and looks lovely. She is definately mad at me though. She wouldn't even come to me when I called her. I'm the bad guy who took her to that bad place. They said she is really afraid of the blowdryer. Poor baby!!

Lake of the Ozarks

Shayne's 1st catfish. We fished in the pond right behind our camper.
Here's me using my fishing pole I got for Mother's Day
Here's me with the catfish I caught. Poor Jeff, he only caught one little catfish and didn't want his picture taken.
Shayne swam at the campground pool almost every night. Had the pool to himself.
Shayne enjoying a sip on lemonade on the patio at Osage National. Jeff's buddy Chris is a chef there and he treated us to lunch. Good food...beautiful golf course and resort.
We had a really fun time. It rained Friday but that didn't damper our day. We played skee ball and fished and by evening it was gone and Shayne was swimming again. We took a hike Saturday at the state park there and came back covered in ticks. Star is at the groomer getting a bath and hopefully rid of her ticks. She had a lot. She hates for us to take them off. I'm sure she'll be real pretty when she gets back. She tried to fight them when they took her from me but she relented and went willingly. Now we're home recovering and doing tons of laundry. But it was all worth it!!

Camp Ne-O-Tez

Shayne loves playing in the creek at camp. He's hanging out with his buddy Jeffrey. They caught lots of creatures.
I like this picture of Shayne plus it shows off the new camp shirt for this season.
Our friend Sam and a few of his buddies getting ready for the balloon toss.

We had a nice time at camp. Sunday was miserably hot but the temps got much better. Except for some rain on Monday evening everything went great. And even the rain did't mess things up we just improvised a little. We're glad we went, we're glad to be home and excited to be leaving again tomorrow for a short trip to the Lake of the Ozarks.

A Night Out

Last night Jeff and I had a double date with my sister and her hubby. We went to see Momma Mia at the Fox Theatre. It was such a good production. I really enjoyed it and Jeff did too. Now he's anxious for the movie to come out. If you like ABBA you will really enjoy the show. Lots of fun. Several big/funny dance scenes. It was a long night though. A little over 2 hours long.
Before the musical we went to dinner at AppleBees. Yummy. I love their 3 cheese chicken penne. It is excellent...I highly recommend it.
It was nice to have a date night. We rarely get the opportunity. The best part was my Bro in Law was given the tickets (in the orchestra pit) and we had a gift card for AppleBees. The whole night cost $5.00. Woo Hoo!!

A Weekend of Camping

We spent a couple days at Robertsville. State Park. Spent some time with Jeff's sister Tina and her family. Had yummy food, thunderstorms (thankfully only during the night) and lots of long walks. The kids did some fishing but the Meramec was too high and swift for them to go to. I enjoyed lots of long walks with Star and my niece Tori and Shayne. The worst part of all of it were the TICKS. We weren't there 5 minutes and Shayne was already pulling them off of himself. All 3 of us had ticks to pull off by bedtime the 1st night. So, I highly recommend that if you are going camping or to NEOTEZ this summer to find bug spray that is for ticks AND also bring a pair of tweezers. Poor Star. We are still pulling them off of her and she HATES it!!! We ended our trip with a flea market in Union, MO. Shayne insisted he didn't want to go but soon learned that he could buy XBOX games there and was very happy!!

Shayne is looking forward to his 1st full week off of school. We don't have a lot planned. I've cut back on my work schedule so we can do some fun things during the summer. This week we will be getting ready to work down at Camp NeOtez. We always love starting our summer off working there. Jeff's cooking again, I'm teaching Bible and Shayne gets to work in the Canteen. That's only til Tuesday. Then we have the rest of the week to hang out together. With no plans yet...sometimes last minute plans are the best.
