He's done!!

He's saying "Last Day"
One of our favorites. Mrs. Ramey 1st grade teacher.
Our favorite guidance counselor Ms Robertson. Couldn't have gotten through elementary without her.
Mrs. Wagner our special friend and 3rd grade teacher.
So many people at Drummond have had a wonderful influence on Shayne and we will miss the school so much. We are bittersweet about it all. Ready to enjoy our summer. Lots of camping. Hopefully this rain will STOP soon!!

Honoring Our Vets

I was very proud of Shayne today. His Scout Troop put flags on veterans graves. He took this very seriously. The VFW post did a short service and shot guns and plays Taps on the bugle.

We were at FeeFee Cemetery. As long as I've lived in this area I have never stopped there and looked. I was amazed at how old some of the graves are. And at the history of our community that are buried there. Names that now are street names. Adie, Hanley, Shumate. Some dated back to the Revolutionary War and the Spanish American War. I think Shayne enjoyed being a part of this memorial.

a graduate

Shayne is an official DARE graduate. They had a ceremony today. Here's a picture of him with his DARE officer. Friday night is the DARE lock in at our community center. His 1st all night party. Not sure he's gonna make it all night, but we'll see.

Water Fun

Shayne decided to play with Star in her little pool. She loves to try to "eat" the water that comes out of the hose and also water guns. We also took her down to camp yesterday and she had a great time swimming and fetching things out of the creek. She was a tired pup last night.

Here she is all wet and ready for more water fun.

Here's Shayne who loves to get her all wet. He only has 6 days left of 5th grade. He's very excited.

Magic House

Shayne had a 1/2 day Friday so we took a trip to the Magic House with his buddy Adrian. It was raining most of the day. It was unexpectedly crowded there today but the boys had a great time. In this picture they are placing their hands inside other handprints. Adrian's hand is inside a Rams players hand.
Shayne found his favorite thing while we were there, Legos.
This is probably Shaynes favorite thing at the Magic House. I'm not sure what it's called but he's sitting in front of it and his hand and face impressions are on the bottom row. We had a really fune day.

Golf Lessons

Shayne started taking golf lessons on thursdays. He looks forward to it every week. He actually looks pretty good to me out there. He is so serious and it's so cute. I'm sure that would be an embarrasing statement to him if he bothered to read my blog.
Here he is with his teacher. He's taking lessons at Berry Hill in Bridgeton. Saturday he will play his 1st game of golf. He can't wait for that.
