Bittersweet
This week has been good. Wednesday night was bittersweet for me. Shayne and I went to orientation at Holman Middle School. I can't believe he'll be there next year. To me he just started kindergarten. He is growing up and it makes me sad. He really wasn't that excited about the visit. He thinks he knows the school because he's been there a few times. His school is going to visit there in a couple of weeks so maybe he'll be more excited then. We will miss Drummond so much and all the teachers and staff that have become so special to us. Unfortunately, kids have to grow up.

The week in review
We had a good week. Busy at times but good. Shayne did well in school and did 100% of his work for at least 2 days. He started golf lessons on Thursday afternoon. While we were waiting to start he looked at me and said, "Don't embarrass me Mom I need to make a good impression". So I behaved. But then the pro asked me to drive a golf cart out to the driving range. Ok, never driven one before, a little nervous, Shayne very nervous but I did it and had no problems or embarrassing moments. After golf we rushed home to dinner which Jeff had fixed (thank goodness). Next stop was Boy Scouts. Shayne earned his 1st badge and is now officially at Boy Scout. Friday was a 1/2 day for Shayne so I took that day off. We went to see Nim's Island. It was an enjoyable movie. Not exactly like I thought it would be but I liked it. Then today we went to Rockwood Reservations Conservation area and worked in the stream. Pulling out plants that are not native to Missouri and hurt the habitat of some animals (salmandars, turtles etc) Shayne found a salamandar. He worked a little but explored most of the time. Searching for arrowheads and other treasures. Tomorrow we promised Shayne a game of putt putt. He is really into the golf thing now and thinks putt putt will be good practice. At least the weather is suppose to be nice and warm. Then hopefully we'll get a little rest before the new week begins. 5 weeks and one day left of school. I think I'm ready for it to be over.
I know Shayne is ready. We're hoping to get in lots of mini camping trips this summer. Visiting many state parks and other places too.

I've been tagged
Ok, my friend Michelle tagged me. I'll give it a try.
1. I think I'm addicted to soda. I'm really trying hard now to cut back and usually can just get by with one a day but if Jeff leaves his glass sitting around I take a sip....and it's wonderful!!
2. My niece Kelly just had a baby boy yesterday. His name is Judah William...Jude for short. I'm so sad that they live so far away (Delaware) and I don't know when I'll be able to get my hands on that baby or her other two sweet girls.
3. My dream car is a brand new Mustang convertable. Every time we pass one Shayne tells me "There's your car Mom". I don't even care what color it would be I'd just love to have one.
4. My sisters are 12 and 15 years older than me. Growing up it felt like being an only child since they were both out of the house by the time I was 7. Now I feel very close to them and am glad they are a part of my life.
5. I've been married for 20 years. I'm very proud of that fact but feel funny saying it because I got married so young. Jeff and I say we grew up together and that's one reason we're making it.
6. I learned that I don't like the feel of earthquakes. I actually didn't feel the "big" one this morning but I did feel the aftershock.
7. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I never have known. I still don't know. I just don't want to grow up. I'm thankful that my hubby works hard enough for me to be a semi stay at home mom.
I don't know who else to tag so if anyone else wants to play go right ahead. I know a lot of my fellow bloggers have already been tagged.

Hunting
Jeff and Shayne went turkey hunting Saturday with Steve Jones. They spent the night out at the farm in Bowling Green friday night and got up early to hunt. This is only Shayne's 2nd experience at hunting and his 1st at getting to be the "hunter". I'm sad to say he didn't get a turkey. He shot and missed. He had the best time and didn't want to leave. He now says hunting and fishing are the top 2 hobbies on his list. Maybe next time he'll have better luck.

Camping Trip
Shayne is on top of the world at Elephant Rocks. Shayne and me at Elephant Rocks. Jeff and Shayne at the museum at Ft Davidson...Battle of Pilot Knob.
We broke in our new camper. Spent the weekend at Washington State Park. It is very beautiful there. We also took a road trip to Elephant Rocks and Ft Davidson, a civil war battlefield and fort. It was beautiful weather and we had a great time.

same ole, same ole
I haven't posted for awhile. Not much of anything exciting has happened. We have been busy though. Last weekend I enjoyed time to myself while the boys went to boy scout camp for the day and night. I did a little shopping, had dinner with a friend and went to my prayer group. It was a great relaxing day. The boys hiked about 4 miles and Shayne helped fix lunch that day...wow he's growing up. He's doing ok in school. The papers I see back are good , but I don't see very many...mostly math and AR. He only has 9 weeks left and the next 2 will be filled with MAP testing. The best part about MAP testing for him is that there is no homework during that time. Yippee!! Makes me happy too since homework is such a HUGE battle!!
We are going camping this weekend in the new camper. Looking forward to that. We are trying out Washington State Park in DeSoto. Not too far from home. And hopefully not too flooded since MORE rain is in the forecast!!! I am so sick of rain!! Come on sun!!
Other than that we just do the same ole thing....boring is good!!
